I found this quote years ago; no clue who it's attributed to. Back in college I copied this onto an index card and taped it to a little houseplant, to remind myself of my dream and to water. The plant died; the dream lives on.
Since I learned how to do animated gifs I've been keeping an eye out for quotes and useful sayings to translate into these little pieces. The central idea I'm trying to communicate is inspiration for moving forward with a creative practice. In other words, I want readers to look inside themselves and remember that project they've always wanted to do- or perhaps its something they started, but let fall by the wayside. Don't give up on it! Push it aside no longer. Make this the day to start/continue work on your project, and you'll be the happier for it.
I've been reading Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers (which I recommend), and this quote came in the context of a New York immigrant family that got their start by hand sewing and selling children's aprons. It was a sew-all-night and sell-all-day type of operation, but as business owners, each day's efforts had a direct connection to their own advancement. Hard work with meaning behind it.
I'll share other quotes and gifs with you as I make them.
